"The Orbite collection illustrates a series of experiments on the assemblages of metal, reed, earth and wood with each other, their reactions and points of balance. With its structure and three feet firmly anchored to the ground, the Arche console is an embodiment of resilience. It is strong, but imperfect. Handcrafted from palm wood, it bears the marks of the life of an equally resistant tree. Culminating in the sandy expanses of the Tunisian desert, it has resisted aridity, heat and limited water supplies, but preserves within it the memory of the oasis it once inhabited. Arche represents a ray of hope in a hostile environment. The solid elements of this console interlock to create an innovative mounting principle for this soft wood, which is paradoxically sensitive to tearing.
